I began journey to health in 2012 as a result of having health issues myself ranging from: chronic inflammation; digestive issues; menstrual irregularities, and heart problems. My husband was also having health issues such as, high blood pressure, pre-diabetes, sleep apnea, obesity, arthritis, tendonitis, and chronic back pain. My children had symptoms such as ADHD, food sensitivities, and allergies. My middle son, who has special needs, including Autism, was also diagnosed at the same time with what doctors said was an “incurable” disease, Eosinophilic Esophagitis, or “EOE”. At 5’11”, he weighed only 108 pounds, even though he was eating close to 5000 calories per day! The doctors recommended a feeding tube along with multiple prescription medications that all came with side effects. It was at that point that I started researching the link between the foods we eat and how they affect our health. Through all my research and education, I learned there was a connection with what we were eating and our health issues! That is when we began our own journey in reclaiming our health! By abandoning our Standard American Diet (SAD) and transitioning to a Whole Foods Plant Centered Diet, Many of our conditions were eliminated, and others greatly improved!!
